Diesel cars, trucks, pickups and suv's.
Diesel engine technology has been around for quite some time now. Car manufacturers had plenty of time perfecting diesel engines and they sure have come long ways. Now more and more cars, trucks and suv's come available with diesel engines. So, why aren't all cars available with diesel engines? Push towards greener technology is what's stopping it?
Due to its better fuel economy, diesel engines originally started out as a choice of the trucking industry. With diesel cars you will achieve a better fuel economy and at the same time produce less greenhouse emissions. But this is not the way things used to be. For a long time diesel cars were considered dirtier, less environmentally friendly vehicles. With more advanced technology, modern diesel engine cars will actually produce up to 20% less greenhouse gas when compared to gasoline vehicles.
Don't think that every car you can purchase out there comes available with diesel engine. Only selective manufacturers produce their vehicles with diesel engines available.
If you are considering switching to diesel in the near future here's a listing of latest models that are available on Canadian market.
