QEW HOT Lanes – all you need to know and where to apply

As of today you can now apply online to receive a permit to use HOT lanes on the QEW stretch (Trafalgar Road in Oakville to Guelph Line in Burlington).

There is a limited number of permits that will be issued by the Government of Ontario. Approximately 1000 permits will be issued as this is only a pilot project.

Permits will be valid for three months and will cost a total of $180 (1st round of permits will be valid from September 15 to December 31, 2016). HOT permits will be available through a draw.

You can apply for the permits now until August 21, 2016 – winners will be announced on September 1, 2016. (You can forget about applying if you have any outstanding fines)

Right now vehicles with two or more people, buses, vehicles with green license plates, emergency vehicles or licensed taxis and airport limousines can use HOT lanes without permit.

You can apply here (provided by Service Ontario).
